D2C carried out programming, a community-based design process, and developed bridging documents for the new Edgewater Civic Center. The facility will include their City Hall, Council Chambers, Police Department, District Library, gymnasium, fitness center and public meeting rooms all connected by an atrium museum in a secure community building. The design challenges including balancing security access for the City Hall and Police Department and community/public access for the library, gymnasium, fitness center and meeting rooms while maintaining a sense of connection through the building’s entry and center.
